Janice Mayer & Associates

Dear Colleagues:

Thank you for your support of Janice Mayer & Associates LLC and the wonderful artists that were represented on our roster for eleven years (May 1995 – June 2006).

We have assured that all of the artists who wanted to move on to new managements have had successful transitions. Please check Musical America for their current contact information.

Distinguished mezzo-soprano Joyce Castle celebrates her 40th anniversary in 2010. I am honored that she has asked me to serve as her personal representative and assist with special projects during her Ruby Celebration. On October 20th, Miss Castle and the St. Luke’s Chamber Players will give the world premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer William Bolcom’s The Hawthorn Tree at the Morgan Library in New York City. Subsequent performances will follow at the Brooklyn Museum, Dia Beacon, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Lied Center at the University of Kansas and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The work was commissioned by Backshore Artists Projects, Inc. in honor of the mezzo-soprano and made possible by a generous grant from Linda and Stuart Nelson. To quote folk icon Pete Seeger’s 1959 peace song, based on the Book of Ecclesiastes:

"To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time for every purpose under heaven.

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep.

A time to build up, a time to break down"

With gratitude and all good wishes,

Janice L. Mayer
